Data Recovery Grant Program

A new short-term grant program for Florida Municipal Insurance Trust (FMIT) Liability-Insured Members.

The FMIT data recovery grant program is a grant-based solution to help ensure your entity’s data is secure and retrievable.

With recent high-profile cyber liability losses illustrating the major threats against day-to-day operations and service delivery expected of cities, the FMIT would like to assist members with basic data recovery solutions in the event of a cyberattack or other data loss.

While there is no way to guarantee data is protected in all circumstances, our goal is to provide basic, industry-standard security measures to improve chances for data recovery post cyberattack.

FMIT Data Recovery Grants are available annually, for up to a three-year period through 2021-2022, to help cover costs of the managed IT service provider (MSP) services. The amounts are:

  • Fund Year 2019-2020 $2,000.00
  • Fund Year 2020-2021 $1,000.00
  • Fund Year 2021-2022 $1,000.00

Participants who apply to enter the program for the first time in 2020-2021 will forfeit the first-year funding. Participants who apply to enter the program for the first time in 2021-2022 will forfeit the first- and second-year funding. The program will terminate in 2022.
