FMIT Safety Webinar : Material Handling and Back Injury Prevention

Description:  Manual material handling injuries including sprains and strains are way too common in the FMIT.  Unfortunately, many occupations — such as Police, Fire and Public Works — can place significant demands on your musculoskeletal system including your back. While every worker who lifts or does other manual handling tasks is at some risk for musculoskeletal injury, organizations can reduce the number and the severity of manual handling-related injuries by using safe work practices. In this webinar we will discuss how to reduce the need to manually handle materials, the importance of a warmed-up employee, and the differences between proper and improper lifting techniques.
