Pompano Beach TTC (MOT) 16 Hour Training Course
06.21.2017 and 06.22.2017 –  7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Per the MOT Administrator:  MOT is now Temporary Traffic Control

Duration:  16 Hours/2-Days
Pre-requisite:  None

Overview:  Provides Work Zone Traffic Control personnel with constant and consistent education ensuring Department standards are followed in the planning, designing, supervising, implementing and maintaining of Work Zone Traffic Control. Attendees will learn through classroom training and problem solving, followed by a written test.

Learning Objectives:

         Explain the five areas of a work zone and the traffic control devices used in each;

         Understand the requirements for national and state (Florida) standards for Work Zone Traffic Safety;

         Interpret and apply the Roadway and Traffic Design Standards (RTDS) typical applications to varying work zone situations; and

         Inspect the placement and/or operational function of work zone traffic control devices as defined by RTDS.

Participant Profile:  All work zone workers.  Each attendee must bring their valid driver's license or photo ID to this training session.

Per Sections 20.23(4)(a) and 334.048(3), Florida Statutes (F.S.):  This course is required for all persons with duties that include any of the following activities: 

(a) Direct responsibility for placement of work zone traffic control devices;

(b) Direct responsibility for field maintenance of work zone traffic control devices;

(c) Inspection of the placement or operational function of work zone traffic control devices;

(d) Drafting or electronic generation of work zone traffic control plans.

MOT certification wallet cards, which are valid for four [4] years from the date of the exam, will be issued by the MOT Administrator to individuals who successfully complete this course.

MOT Intermediate or MOT Refresher Courses are required every four years for all persons to continue to be qualified to perform their assigned duties. Persons who have maintained current certification from an approved Provider may take a training or refresher course to comply with this procedure.
