Florida Department of Transportation Authorizes FLC as MOT Provider

These classes will further help our members reduce or eliminate losses and do so in the most cost effective manner as possible.  The Risk Control Department at the Florida League of Cities is pleased to announce its’ designation as an authorized FDOT Maintenance of Traffic Intermediate and Refresher training provider.
All personnel working on or near roadways in the State of Florida should attend these courses including roadway maintenance workers, traffic device installation/maintenance personnel, water and water treatment workers, park and recreation personnel assigned landscaping duties near roadways and sidewalk maintenance personnel.  Training is designed to ensure every person involved with work zone traffic control understands the standards with regard to planning, designing, supervising, implementing and maintaining work zones.  Remember, if your employees are placing cones in a roadway, they are part of the standard.
The previous cost to members, per employee being trained, from outside vendors could cost as much as $265 for an MOT Intermediate course and an MOT Refresher course up to $120.  We at the League will be able to provide the MOT Intermediate course to FMIT members for only $85.00 per employee and the Refresher course for only $45 per employee.
We will be holding sessions all over the state but if you would like us to hold a session at your location, please let us know.  To schedule a class or to express interest as to the next class in your area, please contact: Anita Wick at 1-800-445-6248 x1734 or 407-367-1734 or awick@flcities.com.
