ontrol personnel with constant and consistent education ensuring Departmen
t standards are followed in the planning\, designing\, supervising\, imple
menting and maintaining of Work Zone Traffic Control. Attendees will learn
through classroom training and problem solving\, followed by a written te
st.  \; \nLearning Objectives:\n&bull\; Explain the five areas of a wo
rk zone and the traffic control devices used in each\;\n&bull\; Understand
the requirements for national and state (Florida) standards for Work Zone
Traffic Safety\;\n&bull\; Interpret and apply the Roadway and Traffic Des
ign Standards (RTDS) typical applications to varying work zone situations\
; and\n&bull\; Inspect the placement and/or operational function of work z
one traffic control devices as defined by RTDS. \; \nParticipant Profi
le:  \;All work zone workers.  \;Each attendee must bring their va
lid driver's license or photo ID to this training session.  \; \nPer S
ections 20.23(4)(a) and 334.048(3)\, Florida Statutes (F.S.):  \;This
course is required for all persons with duties that include any of the fol
lowing activities:  \; \n(a) Direct responsibility for placement of wo
rk zone traffic control devices\;\n(b) Direct responsibility for field mai
ntenance of work zone traffic control devices\;\n(c) Inspection of the pla
cement or operational function of work zone traffic control devices\;\n(d)
Drafting or electronic generation of work zone traffic control plans. \nM
OT certification wallet cards\, which are valid for four [4] years from th
e date of the exam\, will be issued by the MOT Administrator to individual
s who successfully complete this course.  \; \nMOT Intermediate or MOT
Refresher Courses are required every four years for all persons to contin
ue to be qualified to perform their assigned duties. Persons who have main
tained current certification from an approved Provider may take a training
or refresher course to comply with this procedure. \;  \;
